COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS

Entrants must be resident in UK and over 18 at time of entry.

The competition is not open to members or employees or their immediate family of River Island, its subsidiaries, associated Companies, agents or any one connected with the competition.

No purchase necessary.

Competition consists of 7 consecutive themed competitions. (a) Accessory To Fashion (b) My River Island Style (c) Denim Duel (d) Beachin' Styles (e) Festival Favourites (f) Sale Style (g) New Season, New Style. For each theme there are 3 sub-categories:

  • TREND ADDICT - a style that looks like it has stepped straight out of a fashion magazine. The latest hot trends!
  • STYLE ICON - a measure of complete style envy. The ultimate accolade!
  • INDIVIDUAL LOOK - the most original response to the challenge. Off the wall styling!

For each theme there will be 3 winners, one for each sub-category.

To enter, entrants must:

  • submit a photograph of themselves wearing River Island clothing/product in a manner reflecting the theme and sub-category of the competition being entered. Entrants may use their own River Island clothing/product or visit any River Island store and photograph themselves wearing any River Island products of their choice. Product must not be removed from the store and entrants are responsible for arranging photographs.
  • upload their photograph/s and complete the online entry form at www.gfw.riverisland.com.

Entrants may submit any number of differing entries.

The winner of each sub-category in each themed competition will receive £100 of River Island gift vouchers to spend in a River Island store of their choice or key River Island products. There will be 21 winners in total.

The winners of each sub-category will be those receiving the highest number of votes posted via the website www.gfw.riverisland.com.

Winners cannot receive more than one prize in each of the themed competitions.

Only one prize per household. Entrants are prohibited from voting for their own entry, using their own email address or otherwise

Winners will be notified within 5 working days of closing dates for voting using the email address provided on the winners entry.

Winners must claim their prize within 10 working days of notification. How to claim details will be provided with the winners notification and may include proof of identity and age.

The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner and re-award the prize to the entrant with the next highest number of votes, if in its opinion there are suspicious, fraudulent or multiple voting patterns in relation to an entrant in any sub-category or competition.

In the event any winner fails to claim their prize by the above date or is otherwise disqualified, that prize will be awarded to the entrant gaining the next highest number of votes in the relevant sub-category.

Winners may be required to take part in post-competition publicity.

To vote, voters must post their votes via the website www.gfw.riverisland.com and follow the onscreen instructions. Only one vote is permitted in any 24 hour period for any entry.

In the event of there being insufficient votes to determine a winner, or a draw, a winner will be chosen by the Head of Fashion Communications, River Island selecting an entry which most aptly reflects the appropriate theme and sub-category.

There is no cash alternative for the prizes.

Responsibility cannot be accepted (and the Promoter shall not be liable) for lost or delayed entries.

All entries become and remain the property of the Promoter.

Events may occur that render the competition itself or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Promoter and entrants agree that no liability shall attach to the Promoter as a result thereof.

The Promoter”s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into other than as envisaged by these rules.

All entries (photograph, username, age and nearest River Island store) will be published on www.gfw.riverisland.com unless the Promoter in its absolute discretion determines that any image is unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, defamatory, obscene, indecent or otherwise objectionable.

The Promoter will use entrants’ personal data only for the purpose of administering this competition (unless entrant has opted in to receive River Island communications). All personal data (including photographs) will be destroyed by 30 November 2008.

Copyright in the photographs remains with the entrants, but by entering the competition entrants irrevocably grant to the Promoter and its agents the unconditional right to reproduce, encode, store, copy, transmit, publish,display and otherwise use without limitation or compensation their personal data for the purpose of administering and fulfilling the competition.

The name and county of the winners will be available until 5th October 2008 and can be obtained be sending a request and return SAE to the Marketing Dept at the Promoter’s address below.

By submitting an entry, entrants acknowledge and accept these terms and conditions.
